Day trips for discovering Sicily – places not to be missed

Day trips for discovering Sicily – places not to be missed

There are several locations within day trip distance of the Feudo, for which we can give you information and advice. Depending on the time you have available, full day excursions can be made to the large Sicilian cities of Palermo and Catania; in summer, you can visit the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento in the evening, to avoid the heat of the day; half day trips can be made to the Roman Villa at Piazza Armerina and to Caltagirone, famous for its beautiful ceramics.

There are several smaller places about an hour away from the Feudo; for example Caccamo, with a beautiful castle and reservoir where you can go waterskiing, the archaeological park at Himera with Greek temples, necropolis and antiquarium, or the Gal Hassin Astronomy Park at Isnello, the largest in the Mediterranean, which combines avantguard research with training activities, and which has a digital planetarium with a dome 10m in diameter.
